The two championship footballers caught urinating in a glass and pouring the content on others beneath them at the Cheltenham Festival have apologised today for their silly actions and have been each fined two weeks' wages.
MK Dons midfielder Samir Carruthers, 22, said he had let down his family, adding: 'I don’t want to be known as this idiot that urinated in a pint glass'.
Surprisingly though, Poppy Weller, the girlfriend of Bristol City’s Ayling, came out in defence of her man this morning, tweeting: ‘Don't believe everything you read.’

On their punishments, while Collins - on loan from Shrewsbury Town was given a maximum punishment of two weeks' wages by Northampton , Carruthers, whose actions left MK Dons chairman Pete Winkelman ‘very angry and concerned’, has been also fined two weeks’ wages by his club.
But the Dons have gone further by suspending Carruthers for this Saturday’s Championship match with Brighton and Hove Albion.
His fine will go towards Rickley Park School and Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes as well as the Football League’s official charity Prostate Cancer UK.
